will be: first I'll tell you a little bit about the plot, then I'll explain what makes
them good for learning English all while using lots of vocabulary that you can start using
right now to talk about your favorite movies. So get out your pen and write down all the words

The next movie is The Irishman and if you're into mafia and organized crime fiction this epic drama
is a good call. Directed by Martin Scorsese and starred by household names such as Robert De Niro
and Al Pacino. This movie was adapted from Charles Brand's book "I heard you paint houses". It tells
the story of a world war II combat veteran who became a mafia hitman and his politically
fraught friendship with teamster leader Jimmy Hoffa. With lots of flashback scenes this movie
is great for you to see narrative tenses and how to link ideas when telling stories in the past.
The third film is Marriage Story and nominated for six Academy Awards the Oscars this comedy drama
has a relatable plot. It follows a married couple played by Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver
going through a coast to coast divorce. As the main characters are an actress
and a stage director this movie is a good one to add words from daily life
and also movie related words to your vocabulary bank.
Now number four is the White Tiger and this movie tells the story of an ambitious driver
who uses his wit to escape from poverty and rise to the top as an entrepreneur. One of the newest
additions to Netflix's diverse catalogue, this rags to riches movie displays the indian culture

My personal favorite from this list is the Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.
Eurovision is one of Europe's biggest song competitions. This movie tells the story of
two aspiring musicians when they are given the opportunity to represent their country at the
competition. Besides learning about a big aspect of the European culture this movie will inspire
you to continue your journey of learning English the main message you can get from this movie
is that every dream is to fight for and that determination is more important than anything.
Number six is To All The Boys Always and Forever. This movie is the last of the sequel
of the To All The Boys film series. It follows the story of Lana Jean in her Senior Year of high
school. This teenage light story will immerse you in the American school university culture
also it is filled with lots of cultural references as the protagonist visits Seoul in South Korea
where her mother was originally from. Do you often feel frustrated that you can't watch a movie or
your favorite TV series without subtitles? As a learner of Spanish and Portuguese I can totally
empathize with you I wish that I could watch a movie without subtitles and that's the reason why

Moving swiftly to number seven is Mank. Directed by David Fincher this movie takes you on a trip to
the past as it shows 1930's Hollywood. It follows the story of screenwriter Herman J. Mankewicz,
Mank as he races to finish what would become the cinema's masterpiece
Citizen Kane. As this movie shows the backstage of the movie making industry
it's a good call if you're an enthusiast of the seventh art. Number eight is The Trial of the
Chicago Seven. As you know part of learning a foreign language is understanding its culture.
This critically acclaimed movie will provide a great immersion in the American culture
it depicts the story of a group of anti-Vietnam war activists called The Chicago Seven. Charged
with a conspiracy to incite a riot at the previous year's democratic national convention in Chicago.
Number nine is The Willoughbys. Any animation fans out there? This movie tells the story of four
siblings who venture out into the modern world with their nanny. The main lesson of this movie
is that we all need support and understanding this is also true for us language learners as
we embark on our adventure of learning a new language. The journey will certainly
be more enjoyable when we find friends teachers and mentors we can count on.
Number 10 is My Octopus Teacher. finally we have a documentary on the list. This one follows a diver
forging a relationship with a wild common octopus in a South African kelp forest. Documentaries are
often full of life lessons and a really good one from this documentary that you can apply to your
English learning is that vulnerability reveals and connects her you can always
arm yourself against the world and choose until you are ready to start speaking English.
However I assure you that being open to taking risks making mistakes and learning as you go is
much more likely to provide you with meaningful connections for life. So you might remember
